Our pantry was completely empty last week, but during our food drive on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in front of Walmart, the good citizens of Socorro County donated 1,240 pounds of food, and gave over $600 to fill this pantry back up! We stocked all of our shelves and still have hundreds of pounds of food that wont fit (yet)!
We can't thank you enough for your kindness! These food items will be distributed directly to the people in the community who need it over the next 4-6 weeks. We will distribute as many as 40 meal kits each day to people in Socorro who are either living outside, or dont have a way to cook. We'll also be able to provide a nice hot, Thanksgiving meal the Wednesday before the holiday, and for the people who do have a way to cook, we'll be able to help them out with some extra ingredients, too.
